What's new on Cloudsmith

We are pleased to announce significant improvements to how package deletions work at Cloudsmith.

In the past, when you requested to delete a package, our system underwent a process known as delete synchronization, which was necessary for the safe removal of packages. Unfortunately, this process resulted in asynchronous deletions, occasional delays, and queue interruptions for package uploads.

We're excited to share the following improvements:

• ⏱️ Instantaneous Deletes: No more waiting around! Deletes now happen instantly and don't require the delete synchronization process, ensuring a smoother and more efficient package removal experience; any deletes will no longer hold up upload or republished packages, and the CLI will return immediately.
• 🤫 Super Secret Teaser: For those of you who desire extra safety related to accidental deletions (and it happens to us all), we have something special in store for you (wink-wink, nod-nod). The new process sets up the capability to undelete packages. Watch this space for an announcement on self-service for it.
