Last year, we introduced Cloudsmith’s new web app user interface hosted at app.cloudsmith.com and shared our plans to retire the legacy interface on cloudsmith.io. We knew there were a few key features we wanted to bring to the new UI before deprecating the old one, and customer feedback since launch has reinforced those priorities. As such, we have updated our timeline:
June 30th 2025: Cloudsmith customers with public and open source repositories should update shared links and point their customers to app.cloudsmith.com. While the cloudsmith.io domain will continue to work until the cloudsmith.io interface is switched off in January 2026, we recommend beginning the transition with your own customers early.
Note: Package download endpoints on the cloudsmith.io domain will continue to work even after the legacy interface is switched off.
January 20th 2026: The legacy web interface hosted on cloudsmith.io will be switched off and become inaccessible. Where possible, we will redirect requests to the appropriate location on app.cloudsmith.com.
